Benjamin Omoruyi, LL.B., LL.M.
Principal Lawyer
Benjamin is a dedicated and compassionate lawyer committed to helping clients navigate complex legal matters with clarity and confidence. He earned his LL.B. from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria, and was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2008. After several years of private law practice in Lagos, he moved to Canada to pursue advanced legal studies, earning his LL.M. from the University of Saskatchewan in 2013.
Since 2014, Benjamin has shared his passion for law as a sessional lecturer in International Law at the University of Saskatchewan’s College of Law. Called to the Saskatchewan Bar in 2016, he has built a diverse practice focused on family law, criminal defence, civil litigation, corporate and commercial matters, estate planning and administration, and real estate transactions. He regularly appears before various levels of court and represents clients from all walks of life.
Benjamin is known for his thoughtful approach, strong advocacy, and practical guidance. He takes pride in helping clients through challenging legal issues with care, integrity, and a focus on meaningful outcomes. He has had the honour of representing survivors of the Indian Residential School system and the Sixties Scoop, advocating for justice, accountability, and healing. He also supports families involved with child and family services, ensuring their rights and interests are protected.
Bringing both international and local experience, Benjamin combines legal expertise with cultural sensitivity to provide compassionate, effective representation.
Outside the office, Benjamin enjoys spending time with family, volunteering at his local church, road trips, soccer, politics, and playing poker.
Florence Ifediba, LL.B., LL.M.
Associate
Florence is a compassionate and approachable lawyer who is committed to helping her clients navigate legal challenges with confidence and clarity. She listens carefully, explains options in plain language, and works tirelessly to achieve the best possible outcomes.
She earned her LL.B. from Igbinedion University, Nigeria, and was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2012, before beginning her career with a private law firm in Lagos. Seeking to expand her experience and gain a global perspective, she moved to Canada and completed her LL.M. at the University of Saskatchewan in 2019. She was called to the Saskatchewan Bar in 2024.
Florence handles a wide range of legal matters, including family law, immigration law, corporate and business law, real estate, and wills and estates. She regularly appears before the Court of King’s Bench and Provincial Court in Saskatchewan, advocating for her clients with professionalism, skill, and genuine care.
She is passionate about access to justice and works with clients from all walks of life — whether individuals, families, corporations, or Legal Aid clients. Her goal is always the same: provide clear guidance, practical solutions, and strong representation tailored to each client’s needs.
In immigration law, Florence helps clients build their future in Canada — assisting with work, study, and visitor permits; permanent residence; family sponsorship; refugee claims; and citizenship. She also represents clients in appeals, removal proceedings, and IRCC delays, ensuring their rights are fully protected.
Outside of work, Florence enjoys singing, academic research, and writing movie scripts, bringing creativity and curiosity to everything she does.
Demery Hockley
Legal Assistant
Demery joined Omoben Law Office in August 2022, bringing a strong background in administrative support and client service. Born and raised in Wynyard, Saskatchewan, she holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Regina, where she majored in Sociology with minors in Psychology and Women & Gender Studies.
As a Legal Assistant and Notary Public, Demery provides notary and commissioning services with professionalism and care. She takes pride in supporting clients through a friendly and efficient approach, ensuring each interaction is both positive and productive.
Outside of work, Demery enjoys spending time with her family, baking, listening to podcasts, and staying active.
Theresa Hunter
Legal Assistant
Theresa joined Omoben Law Office in August 2022 and has since brought her strong administrative and organizational skills to the team. She holds a college diploma in Business Administration and Computer Accounting from Park College, formerly located in Durham, Ontario.
As both a Legal Assistant and a Notary Public, Theresa provides notarial and commissioning services to clients and the public with professionalism and care. Known for her friendly and dependable nature, she is a valued and trusted member of the Omoben Law Office team.
Outside of work, Theresa enjoys spending time with her family, cooking, and shopping with her daughter.
